2026-27 School of Choice Application

FOR NON-RESIDENTS OF THE ROMULUS SCHOOL DISTRICT ONLY.

Applications will be accepted, for grades K-11, April 15th, 2026 through September 2nd, 2026 for the 2026-27 school year.

Please note the following important information:

Filling out and submitting this application is not a guarantee of acceptance.
Please complete the application and submit it with the previous school's discipline record and IEP, if applicable, for your student. Applications for grades 1-11 will not be accepted without the discipline records, not required for Kindergarten.
The application and discipline record will be reviewed and you will be contacted with a denial, with explanation, or acceptance. If accepted you will need to complete the enrollment process within 1 week of acceptance or your application will expire.
Students who have been suspended from any school since September 2024, or expelled at any time are not eligible.
Transportation is not provided for School of Choice students and the sole responsibility of the parent. Tardies/Absences will not be excused because of lack of transportation or weather conditions. RCS reserves the right to ask parents to enroll their child in their district of residence if their student is not picked up after the school day in a timely manner.
One student per application. Please fill out a separate application for each student applying for school of choice.
Elementary school placements will be made based on grade level openings at each building by August 17, 2026.
School of choice siblings will be kept together at the Elementary levels.

I realize that all necessary registration documentation including, but not limited to, records regarding immunizations, grades/transcript, birth certificate, proof of residency and parent ID will be provided to the district upon acceptance for School of Choice. Failure to comply with the necessary provisions of this document will automatically nullify this application. RCS is committed to student achievement, thus requiring daily attendance. If your student’s attendance becomes an issue you agree to withdraw your student and enroll them in your district of residence upon request. Tardies/absences will not be excused because of lack of transportation or weather conditions. RCS reserves the right to ask parents to enroll their child in their district of residence if their student is not picked up after the school day in a timely manner.
