Darcel Davis

Darcel C. Davis is serving his first term on the Romulus Community Schools Board of Education. Darcel is a music educator, conductor, and saxophonist based in Southeast Michigan. He earned the Bachelor of Music degree in Instrumental Music Education with Music Honors and University Honors, studying conducting with Professor Douglas Bianchi and Dr. Jerry Custer and saxophone with Dr. James Fusik. During his time at Wayne State, he served as an ensemble manager for the University Bands and Vice President of the Wayne State National Association for Music Education Collegiate chapter. 

 

As an alumnus of Romulus High School, Darcel was Valedictorian for Romulus High School’s Class of 2021, drum major for the Romulus High School Marching Band in 2019 & alumni drum major in 2021, member of the Next Level Scholars program by the Detroit Regional Dollars for Scholars, and a participant & staff member with the American Guild of Music. 

 

During his free time he continues to volunteer with the Romulus Music Department, serving as a Trustee for the Romulus Band Boosters. He is an advocate for Arts Education and Career & Technical Education. Influenced by his experiences as an educator, alumnus, and community member, Darcel strives to support Romulus students and staff through greater transparency, accountability, and strategic re-investments across the district.
